DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in Southern California\, Meredith grew up in a smaller rural town of Valley Center which is located in North County San Diego. Living there provided an avenue for her to develop a profound love for raising livestock and feeling connected with those in her community. Meredith joined TERI in 2004 and during that time started a 4-H club for children with disabilities that ran from 2006-2017. She has also started and currently runs a Livestock program through our agriculture department and is currently the Director of Integrated Employment Services and runs the TERI paid Vocational Internship Program\, the TERI VIP. Meredith has always felt a connection to those with disabilities and working at TERI where she can combine her passions of animals\, leadership\, and human connection\, has proven to be the perfect career for her.

DESCRIPTION:David Skelly\, a Point Loma native and UCSD Magna Cum Laude graduate\, is a licensed civil engineer with decades of experience in coastal processes and environmental documentation. A former UC Regents Fellow at Scripps Institution of Oceanography\, he worked on coastal erosion issues worldwide and co-authored the Coast of California Storm and Tidal Wave Study. Dave later co-founded and sold GeoSoils Inc.\, a leading geotechnical engineering firm in Southern California. Now semi-retired\, he continues to consult on critical coastal projects\, most recently helping rebuild oceanfront homes in Malibu after the fires. When he’s not working\, Dave can be found surfing or playing two-man beach volleyball at Moonlight Beach—where he also witnessed firsthand the recent nourishment project he’ll be discussing\, along with the long-term challenges of sea level rise.

DESCRIPTION:Carl Mostert is a dual citizen of the United States and South Africa\, born and raised in the Western Cape winelands near Cape Town. With family roots in South Africa dating back more than 370 years\, Carl initially studied Zoology and Botany before shifting to engineering\, earning a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and an MBA from Henley Business School in the UK. He spent his professional career in the high-tech and software industries. \nRaised in a wine-centered family—his father managed a Stellenbosch farm producing Pinotage—Carl developed a lifelong passion for wine. He has pursued extensive formal training\, including the UC Davis Winemaking Program\, the WSET Diploma\, French Wine Scholar\, and Certified Specialist of Wine credentials. Together with his wife Beppie\, he shares this passion through wine tastings\, supper clubs\, and Wine ’n Wildlife travel experiences\, guided by his philosophy: “Enjoying wine is a journey—there is always more to learn\, and every experience is new.”
